How to Sign Up
STEP 1:
Signing up as a STUDENT is easily done from
here:
Start by entering your FIRST NAME, LAST NAME, and
E-MAIL address in the required boxes. The e-mail address you enter should be an address you can access anywhere, as it is where the
ANSWERS to your QUESTIONS will be sent. Choose a
PASSWORD that will be easy for you to remember.
STEP 2:
Enter your PERSONAL INFORMATION on the next page. You must include your full address and a phone number. It may be necessary to contact you be telephone should we require more information about your question (although we will always try to e-mail you first). Your personal information will NOT be available to anyone but the staff at
TechnovateScholastic.com and will NOT be available to the Online Teachers.
You are asked to enter your e-mail address and password TWICE. This is to ensure accuracy. Choose a password that you will easily remember! If you lose your password you can click this link:

Include the SUBJECT AREAS that you feel you may need help in. This is simply for us to monitor what subject areas are most problematic for students so we can have the appropriate number of teachers for these areas.
STEP 3:
Read over the Agreement and press the SUBMIT button. You are now registered. Congratulations!
How to Use the Site
STEP 1: Logging In
Logging in as a STUDENT is done at the main page at:
TechnovateScholastic.com
Enter your E-MAIL and the PASSWORD you selected. If you forget your password please click
HERE.
Under the heading TYPE select
STUDENT from the drop-down menu.
Click SIGN IN and you will be brought to your profile.
STEP 2: Managing your Credits
The box at the bottom of your PROFILE indicates the number of
CREDITS you have. To post a question you must first purchase
CREDITS. Each credit costs $3.99 USD. These credits are used as currency to offer Online Teachers when posting a question. Each
CREDIT represents approximately 7 minutes of a teacher’s time in answering your
question. To purchase CREDITS all you will need is a credit card.
TechnovateScholastic.com uses
Paypal and WorldPay (for one-time credit card transactions), but you do not need to join either site.
Read over the Agreement and press the SUBMIT button. You are now registered. Congratulations!
When you are ready to buy CREDITS simply click the
BUY CREDITS button to the right of your profile. It is recommended that you buy the packages, as the price per credit is lower.
CREDITS do not have an expiration date.
STEP 3: Posting a Question
After logging in you can submit your question by clicking POST QUESTION under
BUY CREDITS, to the right of your
PROFILE.
Enter the required information in each field. The more detailed the better.
The SIMPLIFIED QUESTION is where you need to get the teacher’s attention. If the question is a simple one line math equation you can post it here. If the question is longer, put a simplified version here. Posting something like “need historical info on Egyptian agriculture” will not only attract the attention of qualified history teachers, it will also attract those who specialize in Egyptian history OR agriculture. You can upload attachments later. Under FULL REQUIREMENTS you indicate exactly what it is you are looking for. For example if your question is a math problem you might put: “I need you to solve the question and explain the process with diagrams.” The Online Teacher will know that you require a detailed explanation AND a diagram. The UPLOAD QUESTION FILE is where you can upload the exact document of the question you need. We can accept .doc, .txt, and .pdf files.
NOTE THAT THE MAXIMUM FILE SIZE IS 2MB. You may also upload any other relevant documents that may assist the Online Teacher in answering the question.
Below the UPLOAD fields it tells you how many
CREDITS are in your account. Below that you are asked how many
CREDITS to bid. An Online Teacher can see your question and your bid before they choose to accept it. Therefore, the more
CREDITS you bid, the more likely it is that your question will be answered promptly. Remember:
1 CREDIT is worth about 7 minutes of a teacher’s time. A lengthy math problem with a 1
CREDIT bid is not likely to be answered. A maximum of 30
CREDITS can be bid for 1
question. Finally, you are asked to give a DEADLINE by which you want the answer. The more time the better!
Please note that all times are Eastern Standard Time (EST).
Click SUBMIT and your question will become available to all of our hundreds of teachers!
When your question is answered it will be E-MAILED to you in text format along with a link to retrieve it from the site. You will also be able to access the answer after logging in.
